Attention Cisco UCS Customers - Cisco has identified an issue that impacts certain SSD drives used in the UCS product line. This issue could cause data loss after the SSD has been powered on for 40,000 hours. A software fix is available.
Please review the Field Notice 70545 to determine if your systems are impacted.

For the B series servers, how do we update firmware for local disk, when you create a new host firmware package to assign to the blade, usually local disk is excluded from components update. am I missing something?

Remove the Host Firmware Package Local Disk Excluded Component:
UCSM / Servers / Policies / root / Host Firmware Packages / [Name of your policy] / [Modify Package Versions] / Excluded Components / uncheck Local Disk / [Ok]
Re-acknowledge the server to initiate the disk firmware upgrade.
