Changing the Chassis Discovery Policy to Port-Channel

Hello,

I am in the process of planning a hardware swap from a pair of 6248 FI's to a pair of 6454 FI's. One of the requirements for the 6454's is that the chassis discovery policy will need to be set to port channel. My current 6248's have the Link grouping preference set to None, so I believe I'll need to change this to port channel before beginning the migration.

What effect will this change have on the existing chassis? I can't find any official documentation from Cisco describing what will happen, but what I'm gauging from various forums is that this change to the discovery policy itself will not be disruptive, but that I'll then need to re-acknowledge each chassis, which is disruptive. Does that sound correct?

Thanks
