Compatibility Matrix for new nenic driver 1.0.25.0

Hi @Aliki,

one question .. vmware support recommends me to update the nenic driver of my ESXi 6.5 enviroment to the new version 1.0.25.0. All my ESXi Blade (B200M4 v3) are running under firmware bundle 3.1(3f) and the ucs Manager with 3.2(2d) ... so when look on the cisco comp guide the nenic driver 1.0.25.0 are only listed under the new 4.x Version .. so my question is, when i upgrade the nenic driver to the recommendet version are these compartible with running Infra/Blade Bundles?

You need to match the Firmware version that is running on the blade itself, not the UCSM infrastructure version, for determining the ENIC/NENIC drivers.

You will want to use the Cisco HCL specified driver.

https://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2030818    VMware generically says "use the latest version", but in case of questions "go visit the hardware vendor's HCL links for actual latest supported firmware/driver".

Another way of wording this would be "Follow the Cisco UCS HCL" and stick with the specific driver versions it references that match your firmware.
