Configuration L2 based Nexus 1000v installation change to L3

Do we have a documentation how to change a L2 based Nexus 1000v installation to a L3 one ?

I've never done it; I assume it is disruptive ?

Yes, as far as I know it is disruptive. There is/was a discussion and a couple of enhancement requests to make it hitless, but I don't believe anything came to fruition.
