configuring uplink interface for UCS FIC-6120

I'm having issues trying to configure a basic uplink interface connection to my Cisco FIC 6120. I am not configuring the port-channel yet, but just an individual port for each FIC. The following are my configs.

interface GigabitEthernet7/39

switchport

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport mode trunk

no ip address

spanning-tree portfast trunk

GigabitEthernet7/39 is down, line protocol is down (notconnect)

Hardware is C6k 1000Mb 802.3, address is d0d0.fcd.5b32 (bia

d0d0.fcbf.5b32)

MTU 1500 bytes, BW 1000000 Kbit, DLY 10 usec,

reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255

Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set

Keepalive set (10 sec)

Full-duplex, 1000Mb/s

input flow-control is off, output flow-control is desired

Clock mode is auto

ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00

Last input never, output never, output hang never

Last clearing of "show interface" counters 1y6w

Input queue: 0/2000/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 0

Queueing strategy: fifo

Output queue: 0/40 (size/max)

5 minute input rate 0 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec

5 minute output rate 0 bits/sec, 0 packets/sec

0 packets input, 0 bytes, 0 no buffer

Received 0 broadcasts (0 multicasts)

0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles

0 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored

0 watchdog, 0 multicast, 0 pause input

0 input packets with dribble condition detected

0 packets output, 0 bytes, 0 underruns

0 output errors, 0 collisions, 3 interface resets

0 babbles, 0 late collision, 0 deferred

0 lost carrier, 0 no carrier, 0 PAUSE output

0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out

I have configured a few other UCS's before this one, and I can not begin to

figure out the issue. I made sure that the SFP being used in the FIC is for

a LAN at 1 Gb speed, which matches what I have in the 6509. I also made

sure to specify the speed on the UCS at 1GB. But I did notice that the only setting for speed on the configured port on the 6509 is "speed nonegotiate".

Hello,

On FI 6120, one of the first eight ports can only be configured for 1 Gbps.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/ps10265/ps10276/data_sheet_c78-524724.html

Please use one of the first 8 ports with GLC-T SFP on FI If it still fails, provide following output

show run int eth 1/X

show int eth 1/X

show int eth 1/X transceiver details

Padma

Everything is as should as far as the 1gb SPF placement on the fic. And sorry I could not paste the show run into this forum. I guess Cisco has a test limit.
