Dear experts,

I am trying to find an answer to the following question: i have my fabric interconnect configured with both FC and FCoE uplink with a same VSAN. If my server will perform a Boot from SAN, is there any preference algorithm from FI point of view which uplink to chose in the case when they are both active?

The vFCs (virtual HBAs) are generally assigned round robin style if multiple uplinks are available, and looks at existing vFCs assigned.  Basically will assign to least used (from pinned vfc count perspective) FC/FCOE uplink.

If you want to force specific vFC to Uplink pinning, than you will need to use SAN pinning groups. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/ucs-manager/CLI-User-Guides/Storage-Mgmt/4-2/b_CLI_UCSM_Storage_Management_Guide_4-2/b_CLI_UCSM_Storage_Management_Guide_chapter_0110.html
