Hi Ankit,
The standalone C-series server can be claimed and managed on intersight for server lifecycle management.
Refer below documents for the claiming and managing Standalone server in Intersight:
https://intersight.com/help/saas/resources/conversion_procedures#converting_a_server_in_standalone_mode_to_intersight_managed_mode
Server lifecycle management:
https://intersight.com/help/saas/resources/cisco_intersight_managed_mode_configuration#server_lifecycle
Intersight Managed Mode (IMM) delivers a cloud-based, unified management experience for Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnect systems, while UCS Manager Managed Mode (UMM) is the traditional on-premise solution. IMM provides benefits like centralized management, seamless migration, and cloud flexibility, whereas UMM focuses on local control with established interfaces.
For more detailed information about the benefits, please refer below document:

On Cisco UCS C220 M6 Rack Server - Is a PCIe slot the only way to support networking adapters (VIC or NIC)?
03-10-2025 11:54 PM
Hi Aman,
Many thanks for your post,
In general Most of the VIC and NIC cards on UCSC-C220-M6 Server are housed on PCIe slots. however there are few models for eg :
UCSC-M-V25-04
UCSC-M-V100-04
UCSC-M-V5Q50GV2
can be mounted on MLOM card slot as well.
Please refer below docs:

Hope this helps.

What are the supported configurations for NVMe drives in UCS C-Series servers, and how does this technology impact storage performance and latency?
03-11-2025 02:43 AM
NVMe drives in UCS C-series servers can be configured in RAID, direct-attached disks or M.2 bootable options. It depends upon the drive type and purpose of the same to be used in deployment.
Refer to below white paper to understand the NVMe disk I/O characterization and how it impacts the storage performance:

Hi Team,
What are the performance benefits of using the Cisco UCS C-Series for virtualized workloads in comparison to traditional blade servers?

Can we mix M6 servers with previous-generation servers?
03-10-2025 11:58 PM
Hi Amulya,
Can you please elaborate on mix of M6 and previous generation?
If the query is about having M6 and other generation C series servers under the same UCS domain, then yes, we are able to have multiple types of generations under the same domain. Only consideration is hardware and software compatibility with the Fabric Interconnects and UCS Manager version.
If under Intersight, we can still have multiple generation of C series server be used simultaneously, as long as compatibility considerations are fulfilled.

Can we manage U.2 NVME drives with Cisco 24G tri-mode RAID controller in C220-M7 servers?
03-11-2025 02:33 AM
The U.2 NVME drives are direct-managed in slot 1-4. The 24G tri-mode RAID controller only supports Drives SAS/SATA/U.3 NVME.
