Hello,
we have several UCS domains (all Cisco UCS 6248UP) in different DataCenters and we need now more Port Licenses in one of the DataCenters.
In one of the other UCS domains, we have two Cisco UCS 6248UP with the Expansion Module UCS-FI-E16UP installed, but none of the ports, nor the licenses of the Expansion Module are used.
Now my question:
Can I remove the Expansion Module from that FIs and install them on the others, where we would need the Port Licenses?
If yes, which steps do I need to take to do this?
Thank you very much!
Best Regards
Florian

Greetings.
Just make sure all the ports are unconfigured for it, prior to removing, and maybe turn off SCH, till you see what alerts may be triggered.
Thanks,
Kirk..

Hello Kirk,
thank you very much for your answer.
As I understand it:
* Disable Smart call home
* Check if all ports are really unconfigured
* Remove Module while FIs are still running...
* Add Module to other FIs while they are running
* Licenses should now be online on other FIs
Everything right?
Best Regards
Florian
