Hi guys,
We are doing a bare metal install and going to have 2x300GB RAID1 and 2x300GB RAID1 and 3x600GB RAID5.
When I look in the Local Disk Config Policy I have the option of choosing RAID level but how do I decide which HDDs goes with what RAID?
Thanks in advance!
/F

Hi,
AFAIK you dont have an option to configure multiple RAID array's/levels with the local disk policy in UCSM, you need to reboot the server, press the necessary key combination (Ctrl+H for PCIe adapters but it is usually displayed during POST) to get to the RAID controller's GUI and configure it from there.
Check: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/servers-unified-computing/ucs-c-series-rack-servers/whitepaper_c07-732029.html and look for "Changing the RAID Level with the WebBIOS Utility" that will tell you how to do this...

or you go with UCS Manager >= Release 2.2(4b) which brings you the capability of "Advanced Local Storage Configuration" with Storage Profiles
