Need to update ESXi on Cisco UCS C240 with VMSA-2025-0004

We have 2 ESXi servers running ESXI 7.0.3 and need to apply VMSA-2025-0004 . It's been a while since I updated ESXi and I was wondering if there are Cisco OEM images that are required to support the hardware? I have updated ESXi in the past on Cisco UCS and seem to remember I needed to get custom images. Anyone have more information?

1. Install with the Cisco custom .iso.
2. Patch with the newer updated .zip from vmware.com.

More details around your questions directly:

Cisco custom image is only required for Installation when VMware drivers are lacking/lagging.
Cisco custom images are typically only created with new UCS versions which require newer drivers.
In other words; not every version/patch/build of ESXi will get a corresponding custom image.
End customers should get used to patching with VMware images outside of Cisco custom images.
