Network Connectivity-Best Practise

Hi,

We need to install a C240 M3 SFF with 2 CISCO Intel i350 Quad Port 1Gb Adapter on it. The server has totally 8 network ports(each Intel i350 Quad Port 1Gb Adapter has 4 ports).

What is best practise to connect the ports to the switch in terms of redundancy?

- Should I connect each of the adapter with 4 ports to two different network switches to mitigate any network switch failure?

- Should i connect two ports on each adapter to a different network switch?

- How should i configure network  teaming for the 8 ports as a best practise/design?

- Speed/Duplex- Should I configure the network ports as auto on both server & network switch end as a best practise?

Thanks

KMS

Hi

It is hard to provide any recommendations since we don't know anything about the environment that this server is going to be connected or the applications that it will be running. Having said that, I copied two links that will give you an idea of network configuration.
