Outage experience on FI A but not FI B after firmware update

Hi,

We recently did a firwmware update from 4.0(4h) to 4.1(2a) and for the FI A, we experienced a 10min outage. But for FI B there was no outage. The only differnece between the FI are the SFPs used. FI A is using H10GB CU3M but FI b is using SFP H25GB CU3M. Could this difference in SFP have been the cause of the outage?

When you say 'outage' do you mean the FI uplinks didn't come back up for 10 minutes?

Having unbalanced throughput capabilities to your upstream switches could cause a bottleneck during failback scenario, especially if you have hyperflex environment.

Also, incorrect spanning tree settings on your upstream switches can also cause traffic to get blackholed when an FI has just come back online.

This will probably need a TAC case to sort through logs and time line, and to understand what the outage actually entails.

Thanks,

Kirk...
