Reconnect Rack Server to USC moved to stand alone mode

We have a Cisco C240 M4l Rack server connected to a Cisco Blade Chassis. This server operating system had to be completely reinstalled but by mistake the USC was changed to Stand Alone mode. Now The Rack Server cannot connect to anything since it lost the VIC single connect information.

The server configuration can still be seen from the USC.

Is there a way to reconnect and restore the Rack server CISM to the USC and apply the same configuration as before?

I am assuming you are wanting to put the Server back in UCSM mode so the service profile can be re-applied?

If so, make sure all 1 Gb LOM or CIMC connections are removed (if connected), leaving only the pair of 10 or 25GB connections to the FIs (IOMs in this case as it appears you have UCS Mini).  Confirm the ports are configured as 'server' still, that will connect to your rack server.

Make sure the Server in question represented in UCSM is in the decomissioned tab.  If not go ahead and decomission it (server maint, decomission)

On the KVM of server, go to F8 (CIMC setup), and reset that to factory defaults.

At top Equipment level object, there will be decomissioned tab.  For server in question, put check mark in recomission/re-ack tab, and click save at the bottom.

After a few minutes the server should start showing activity in the FSM tab for discovery tasks.

The service profile may/may not auto apply to the server after discovery is complete.

If not, reapply the service profile to it.

If you made different config changes (especially to local storage) then the service profile may have troubles re-applying.

If you know you changed the local raid/disk config while in stand alone mode, you may want to adjust your local disk policy to 'any config' so your existing local disk/raid config does not get over written.
