we are having CISCo UCS environment(8 ports backplane ports-->IO module) where im seeing the 9th port(i.e in chasis 1--->1/1/9 port is belonging to "SAM management VLAN".What it is referring"
we are having another CISC0 UCS environment(16 ports backplane ports-->IO module) where im seeing the 17th port(i.e in chasis 1--->1/1/17 port is belonging to "SAM management VLAN".What it is referring"
All the chassis 9th & 17th ports are belonging to "SAM management VLAN(4044) connected as trunk"
Where it is going to ? and what is the connectivity.
Any idea guys? Please let us know.

You probably want to ask/move this to the DC/UCS area of CSC

Greetings.
Vlan 4044 is a reserved VLAN used for internal UCSM component communication (i.e. FI to IOM, FI to CIMC, etc)
Most of the internal communication utilizes IPs in the 127.x.x.x range.
Thanks,

Thank you Kirk.I'm using 8 & 16 backplane ports.
Then how come the interface 9 & 17 came in to picture?
The interface does not show up via GUI but seen only via CLI and tagged as trunk port with 1 G speed.

There are internal mgmt interfaces and items like the CIMCs of the blades that also require a veth, that you don't see itemized under vif paths, except when looking and show interface cli commands, etc.
These are not items you can remove, nor would you want to.
