UCS Cluster to Array Port

The setup is a 4 UCS Chassis with 8 blade each, to a total of 32 blades.

connectivity is like this UCS-MDS-CX4

4 Clusters created and a set of 4 Clariion SP ports are assined to boot for a given cluster (set of 8 blades).

Likewise all 16 array ports are used up.

Now is there a reason, other than poor management, if a given set of 8 blades boot from outside of 4 SP ports. meaning what is the impact on I/O if any, if all blades boot form all SP ports. What impact does it have if there is too much cross-over

Best practice for UCS is we do not suggest bowtie from the expansion FC ports. If you bowtie, in my opinion, that is overkill. Unless the entire module goes down, you will always have data access because of the multiple ports
