Hello,

I have two DC a primary one that contains SAN and a UCS 5100 and in the contingency DC ill have i HyperFlex for redundancu of the servers and storage.

First, I want to know if is posible to do this.

Second, I want to know how to replicate the data from the SAN to the Contingency DC.

Thanks for the help.

1.With out the HX clusters on both sides, i cant replicate natively the Data from Side To Site?

- Correct, there's no way to natively replicate from a standalone SAN to a remote HyperFlex cluster.

2.When moving the data from a SAN to the HyperFlex i will have to get a orquestator has you and

joehoughes suggestted and how can i get started with the migration?

 - That would be completely dependant on what application you purchased to perform the replication, as you would be installing and configuring that application to perform an inline replication from site to site.

3.You would need another application-based method to perform replication of your VMs themselves from one datacenter to the other? Can you giveme an Example?

- Examples would be VMware SRM, Veeam, Zerto, or other VMware backup/replication software  (these would be application stacks separate to your existing hardware to perform those functions)

Greetings.

Setting up a DR site with replication has a lot of variables involved.

If you have HX at each location you could setup replication.

There are also other solutions out there including VEEAM that help orchestrate backups/replication.

Some SAN vendors also support SAN level replication to compatible remote DR destination SANs.

You might want to reach out to your Cisco account team, and ask if they can setup a conversation about your DR needs, and go over exact details of your environment, and what your options are.

Thanks

Thanks for the Help by the way.

There is no native replication that exists between a SAN infrastructure and a HyperFlex cluster.

You could do replication between 2 HX clusters, or you would need another application-based method to perform replication of your VMs themselves from one datacenter to the other.

You're most likely looking at something like Veeam or Zerto, and that is assuming that you are running VMware for your hypervisor platform.
