Using C200 M2's as VM Cluster

Hello,

We are in the midst of implementing a VM server cluster with SAN Storage. We've recently been quoted some good prices on UCS C200 M2's with dual proc's and 96 gigs of ram (quantity 3).

Are there many people out there using these servers for things other than CUCM, etc..? We are looking at using these to power Windows servers and be our "datacenter."

I realize when doing vmware, numbers are based on how much ram, I/O, and CPU usage each vm takes, but is anyone using a similar configuration and could share their total vm's per server?

Thanks in advance.

Others may respond, but here's a similar thread you might want to have a read of.

The C210 can definately be used as a Hyper Visor host. It's advantage over the C200 is an increased capacity for local storage and additional PCIe cards.  The "best" fit for Virtualisation would likely be the C250 - which can accomodate increased amounts of memory.  Memory capacity will dictate VM capacity per server more than anything else.
