Virtualize Cisco UCS in some software

Hello Community,

I want ask you for some tips. My question is: If there is some software which can virtualize Cisco UCS? Freeware is the best option. Reason why I am asking is, because I need to create testing environment for monitoring. IBM has monitoring agent KV6 for Cisco UCS which is connecting through HTTP to UCS Manager.

Take a look at the UCS Platform Emulator. https://communities.cisco.com/docs/DOC-66688

I believe it will respond to SNMP and api requests like the normal version.

Hello Kirk,

thank you for tip. I download Cisco UCS emulator in version 3.1.1 and want open it on Windows 2012 Server R2. But it cause restart of server... I am opening it in vmware workstation player and vmworkstation 12. Both of them cause Windows server restart. I expect that is not propper functionality.

You can launch Cisco UCS Platform Emulator using VMplayer, VMfusion, VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi), and Microsoft Hyper-V.

Hello Walter,

ok I got this. But there is some reason and when i try to open it in VMplayer, whole server is restarted. My server is running in cloud. I have to fix that with administrators.
