vnic enable failover or use vmware?

Should the enable failover box be checked or should it be unchecked and just use vmware failover instead?

Hi Tony,

It is recommended to configure failover only at the OS level on the ESXi host and not UCS.

The above statement for sure applies if you require loadbalancing AND failover ! meaning you have one vnic connected to fabric A resp one to B.

If you only need failover, eg. mgt, hardware failover could be used, although VMware is not happy, flagging no redundancy...........
