I know there is another feature called table-map can be used with some tweaking, but I still want to explore this option.

use a L3 device (switch or router) for L2 link. make sub interfaces for each vlan which you need to connect in same subnet and one additional subinterface for for routing (static route)
Many ways possible and dependent on you design / infra / hardware. Few options are:-> Use ACL-> Use FW between VLAN and traffic filtering/blocking/allowing-> Use VRF-> Use Private VLAN
