Just reading into this. Might be worth looking into if not just for testing. I'm just posting to keep the thread relevant and for my own bookmark. 

Is there a command to put the supervisor in the backup slot (in this case 6) that was updated from cold standby to hot, even though the IOS is different from the active supervisor? 

Is there a way to perform a wipe without internet? Perhaps just with PoE? (Sorry for digging up an old thread.)
