I am struggling to establish whether it's possible to take a backup from v2.2 and restore into v3.1. Can somebody confirm if this works?

We are running 8.2.121.0 on the WLC.
The 8802's are running 8.2.20.16 running image out of the box.
We've run debug capwap client event on a broken 3802 and a working 3702.

Are you talking about HA pairs? You can either go on the GUI and to Monitor > Redundancy > Summary or if you login to the CLI and run the command show redundancy summary.Either of those should give you the local state.http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/...
