I have a similar issue with the utility for a 4500 going from 2.0 to 2.3.2. firewall is off, i can ssh to the unit, pinging it is fine. keep getting the unreachable message from the utility.
I've always used YAST from the command line then setup NTP under the Network Services option on the left menu. Works for VSMS as well. Just type 'yast' at the command prompt after you SSH/telnet to the box.Hope it helps.Matt
