I want to filter OSPF routes within the same area. Distribution-list command is not available on Nexus 9k.

I am planning to connect Cisco Nexus 9K to Nexus 2k. Instead of connecting the nexust 2K on fabric interface, can I use the host interfaces as uplinks to the Nexus 9k ?
I want to understand if the host interfaces can used as an uplink?
