Thanks Wendy,I managed to sort it - it was strangely enough the network cable requiring to go straight into the UC320 rather than on the switch ports on the back of my router - everything is VLAN aware and Cisco so really not sure why it was playing ...

Seemed that way when I was testing a unit out - thought it was rather silly given the UC boxes it's supposed to be replacing can do SIP natively, adding the extra CUBE ISR onto the kit list really pushes the cost up!
