Has anyone ever found a continuous ping feature in IOS version 12. or above?I cant believe that Cisco can only allow you you to ping more than 5 packets from an extended ping command.Surely they must have crafted a continuous ping feature by mow
Thanks for the responses, but I think I undertsand the issue. I was shutting down the interface vlan [1xx] therefore the switch would view this interface as 'init' as it had no relationship with the other hsrp memeber - the other switch did assume ...

Excellent, thank you, I had assumed the additional interface on the Firewall but hadnt considered the internal routing on switch between vlans and trunk to the Firewall.
