Nothing of what the RFC tell really happened.   what really happening is that the router will move from idle to active .. and if the three-way-handshake finished ... one of the two router will move from active to idle to connect !!! and you will see ...
as i know that 802.1D shouldn't have port role alternate . but it does .  the question is how !
