CRTP CPU Consumption on 7204 Routers

I have to configure CRTP on a 7204 VXR router for 260 subinterfaces (offices). I would like to knonw if there are any limitations for the configuratiĆ³n of de CRTP, that limits the number of connections than I can configure.

The router has 128Mb of RAM, and the IOS is 12.2(15)b.

The limitation is not in the number of connections, but in the summary bandwidth that is to be compressed by cRTP. Cisco docs say to refrain from using cRTP on links with speed higher than 768Kbps unless the router CPU load is very low. If you do not run other CPU consuming processes (like bgp, nbar and etc), you can safely gor for up to 1.2Mbps.

I have read about it in Cisco web. In several place are said that yo shoul not configure cRTP on links with speed higher than 1,2 Mbps or 2 Mbps.

But I am in a doubt with these readings. This limitation is for the total speed of the link, or per connection (pvc). I have a HSSI link on the central site, that is connect to many remote through DSL links of 512 kpbs. Could I configure cRTP in this situation?
