I am having difficulty in lab providing PRI to a PBX from and IAD 2432. Included is the config (some info Xed out). The PRI is not coming up- any suggestions? I've been looking for a good config example- having a hard time
Thanks

Another consideration.
Does ISDN PRI interface of PBX work?
12-06-2010 03:04 PM
Here is the latest config pieces:
controller T1 1/0
clock source internal
pri-group timeslots 1-24
interface Serial1/0:23
no ip address
encapsulation hdlc
no logging event link-status
isdn switch-type primary-ni
isdn protocol-emulate network
isdn incoming-voice voice
isdn guard-timer 20000
isdn send-alerting
isdn sending-complete
no isdn outgoing display-ie
no cdp enable
The PRI card on the PBX works correctly with another gateway (adtran). The line is still showing loss of signal. Why would this be happening when using the same interface / same cable there's no problem with the adtran? It seems like it MUST be a configuration thing somewhere.

I believe this is a configuration issue, as I have tried the config on 2 known working 2432's without success.

I've looked over every voice PRI configuration I can find- and just dont get why the PRI is not coming up. I've tried the config on 2 different 2432's with no luck. When I use a different piece of equipment- the PRI comes up just fine. Any ideas?

1. Status of LEDs on T1 ports (both ends)?
2. Which kind of T1 patch cord used for PRI IAD interconnectyion? Cross or stright (should be cross)?

Red on both sides (the PRI is down)- I've used both crossover and straight thru. known working cables.

Common troubleshuting solutions from Cisco.com
1. Check the LEDs on the CSU/DSU to see whether the CD is active (RED in your case), or insert a breakout box on the line to check for the CD signal.
2. Verify that you are using the proper cable and interface (yo wrote - is checked).
3. Insert a breakout box and check all control leads.
4. Contact your leased-line or other carrier service to see whether there is a problem. (This is the lab, than I propose make T1 PRI interconnection between two IADs: one is clock source internal, protocol-emulate network, and second - source clock line, protocol-emulate user)
5. Swap faulty parts.
6. If you suspect faulty router hardware, change the serial line to another port. If the connection comes up, the previously connected interface has a problem (change to another device, in this case)
One more test - create loopback: put your cross cable into both T1 ports on your IAD, 1/0 and 1/1. Did you see grren LED? Did Layer 1 would be ACTIVE when
show controller T1 ?
