VWIC-2MFT-E1 Layer 1 permanently down

I have tested VWIC-2MFT-E1 card in 2651XM and 1760-V gateways. In all voice platforms and IOS got Layer 1 DEACTIVATED status. The far end - is the own Cisco E1 gateways or/and E1 PCI cards. The cross E1 patch cord between E1 gateways used with 1-2==4-5 pinout scheme, the status of LED on CD is green, when patch cord connected.

Was changed many combinations with  clock Source line and internal - no result.

Hi,

You will need an E1 cross over to connect two cisco's together

1 - 4
2 - 5
3 - NU
4 - 1
5 - 2
6 - NU
7 - NU
8 - NU

NU = Not Used

and then you'll need to configure one end as the isdn switch, using the 'isdn emulate network' configuration on the serial :15 interface

Adam

Adam,

I have wrote in the start of message: The cross E1 patch cord between E1 gateways used with 1-2==4-5 pinout scheme

And, when I connect the same cross E1 patch cord to 1760-V with VWIC-MFT-E1 (1-port) card - the status of controller e1 immediately UP, and Layer 1 is ACTIVE.

The far  end (E1 PCI card) in my server on the same table have proto network option, and Cisco gateway with
VWIC-2MFT-E1-DI emulate user (cpe) option.

I have tested with isdn protocol-emulate network and cpe options.

I understand now that your problem is with the 2650, and that it's OK in the 1700.
This is odd. some platforms require the setting up of the E1 card, before some of the configuration appears -
eg card type e1 0 0, but it seams that you already have access to the controller settings !!??!

Thank you for response, Adam.

No, I haven't problem with 2651XM, I have problem with VWIC-2MFT-E1-DI only.

Several combinations was made with the same simptomatic,

a. 1760-V with VWIC-2MFT-E1-DI doesn't work

b. 1760-V with VWIC-MFT-E1 working perfect

c. 2651XM with VWIC-2MFT-E1-DI doesn't work

d. 2651XM with VWIC-MFT-E1 working perfect
