Cisco 190 ATA adapter connections and configuration

I had an analogue landline connected to my EPOS system, this allowed the caller ID to show on my PC screen.

I recently changed to an voip ip phone, however I was told the IP phone and my epos system was not compatible and I need a ATA, so the caller ID can connect.

I have bought a cisco ATA 190, but I don't know how to physically connect and configure the ATA.

Any help will be appreciated..

>>> I was told  <<< => cant' he/she tell you how you connect the ATA?

a Cisco ATA 190 as you have bought is intended to connect an analogue phone to a VOIP network
so it may not be the best way to go

of course you can experiment to make it work
-  connect the analogue output of the ATA not to an analogue phone, but to the analogue input of your EPOS system
-  connect your ATA network side and register your ATA as a SIP device to your phone system
it should be possible to register both with the same extension-ID / phone number ,
- if your voip IP-phone is not part of a phone system but just a single phone
then register your ATA with your SIP provider with same parameters/credentials as your voip phone
so your ATA will ring together with your new VOIP phone and when you are lucky pass the caller-ID to the EPOS system
