Cisco ATA SP112 VOIP socket pinout

What is the pinout of the VOIP socket on the SPA112?

I need to make up cables for our two DECT phones. I have mapped the pinout of the standard cables that come with each phone to plug it into the BT socket and it seems that there is no standard for the wiring of the RJ11 socket on the back of the phones. Each phone seems to have its own layout. I now have the pinout of each phone, but can find no information on the pinout of the RJ11 VOIP sockets on the back of the Cisco SPA112.

I have set up the SPA112 and confirmed connection to the router and VOIP provider. I have several RJ11 to RJ11 cables here, but only one of them gave me a dial tone on the BT phone which leads me to believe that the line might be connected to pins 3 and 4 of the RTJ11 socket of the SPA112, but this is only speculative at this point. Neither this, nor any of the other cables worked at all on any other phone. Just got total silence and the DECT handset indicating 'check line'.

A pinout diagram would be needed to confirm the connections. In particular, if the line is on the two centre pins, where does the 'bell' connection go? I can then make up suitable cables. I had hoped that this information would be found in the instruction book, but alas it is not. If anyone could share this information it would be appreciated.

Whatever you do and/or whatever anyone says, DO NOT UPGRADE THE FIRMWARE of the ATA 112/122

Upgrade and the ATA 112/122 will stop functioning because the firmware is loaded with an expire QuoVadis certificate.

I wasn't aware of this although the SPA112 seems to be at the latest firmware level (1.4.1, Oct 14, 2019). I see that there is a 'Recovery Firmware 1.3.0. Do I need to revert somehow?

I do believe that line is on the two middle pins and have made and adapter based on this. I can make outgoing calls, but can't receive incoming calls. I don't know whether it is needed or not, but I have even replicated a BT master socket by adding a capacitor and resistor as shown here to add the 'bell' signal:

https://www.epanorama.net/circuits/uk_wiring.html

Unfortunately it makes no difference. I get no ring tone after I dial the number on the calling handset and the the phone does not ring. I see no indication that anything is happening on the indicator LEDs. I don't seem to have any problem with Linphone which seems to work fine in both directions.

Turns out the advice on the A&A WiKi for configuring the device was incorrect. In bold lettering it said:

"Do not use +44 as part of the username, otherwise the device will not register. You must use 0."

Nevertheless, the rep pointed out that my credentials were mis-configured and that I should be using the '+44' prefix! When I pointed out that I had followed the above advice on the WiKi, he observed that '+44' is the prefix generally used to configure other devices. Indeed I had myself used '+44' when configuring Linphone and that worked fine, yet I had taken the advice on the WiKi at face value. However, on his recommendation I changed the 0 prefix to +44 and made a couple of test calls in each direction. The SPA112 now worked just fine and calls could be both dialled out and received.

Unfortunately, it worked for only a short while. After a few minutes the same problem occurred so it would seem that a restart of the SPA112 allowed it to work temporarily.

A little further digging showed that the Draytek router may have been interfering with VOIP. On advice I tried to set up port forwarding for port 5060, but the router would not allow this, popping up a message stating that a VOIP service was using that port. My router is not a 'vac' version and does not have any VOIP ports so I contacted Draytek support. The support engineer had a look and disabled the VOIP service via the command line interface. QoS for VOIP on port 5060 was left enabled in Bandwidth Management. It was then possible to set up port re-direction for port 5060 to the SPA112. After that, the SPA112 worked for incoming calls.

UPDATE: I found the details of the command to disable (and re-enable) VOIP on the Vigor router here:
