Cisco SPA504G - Outgoing calls do not give a ringback tone

Hi all,

My hardware consists of a Fritz!Box 7270 with latest firmware, a network switch and a Cisco SPA504G handset (running latest firmware).

For the last few months, when I make calls I do not hear anything, there is no ringback tone - I only hear the voice when the remote site picks up the phone.

I used to hear the ringback tone with the same hardware and software setup - I haven't changed any configuration settings on the Fritz!Box 7270 or Cisco since everything was working fine.

All the hardware has been powered down and rebooted multiple times.

AVM think SPA-500 series doesn't fully support HD codec g.722 and they recommend to deactivate this codec on the phone.

Eureka! That fixed it for me!
(Lucky – I was going to send the Cisco back tomorrow).
