Is it possible to have an extension automatically answer to speakerphone within a given time period?
ie. A dentist is working on a patient and the receptionist would like to intercom to the dentist to provide patient related information, but the receptionist doesn't want the dentist to have to touch the phone to answer the call; instead the phone going straight to speakphone.
This feature has been reffered to as "voice call" on other systems.
Any ideas?

Hello Aron,
This can be done, using the Intercom feature to provide 2 way audio, or the Paging feature, if you only need/want one way audio. If you have multiple rooms that you may need to intercom with, I would suggest using "dialable intercom".
Thank you,
Darren

Hi Darren,
Thanks for the response. With the intercom feature I thought the user still needed to touch the phone to initiate the intercom.
Does the intercom feature auto answer so there is no "interfacing" between user and phone?
The idea is so the doctor can communicate 2 way without having to go through the "scrub down" process everytime the receptionist needs to communicate with them.

The called station auto answers, yes. With CCA you can program if it answers with "no mute"
So if the doctor has guts on his gloves and he is the receiving side, we are good to go.

Hey there,
Having an extension automatically answer to speakerphone within a given time period can be a convenient feature, especially in a busy dental practice. While I'm not familiar with all phone systems, there are usually options to configure such settings.
One possible solution is to explore the settings of your phone system or contact your phone service provider to inquire about features like "auto-answer" or "hands-free mode." These settings allow calls to be automatically answered and routed to speakerphone without the need for the dentist to physically answer the call.
It's also worth considering using a top-rated phone system provider that specializes in dental practices. They may offer specific features and customization options that cater to the unique needs of dental offices. By researching and selecting a reputable Top Rated provider, you can ensure you have access to the most suitable features and reliable support.
I hope this helps, and good luck finding the right solution for your dental practice!
