My Linksys PAP2 Phone Adapter Won't Stay Connected.

I have a linksys pap2 connected to my D-Link DSL-2542B modem / router, I have gone through the registration process and setup with no problems. (Set current ip, Primary DNS, Current Gateway)

The problem I am having is the phone won't stay connected continously. I have to power down the modem to re-register before it will work again. Registration state: "Can't connect to login server" I have DHCP enabled.

I have naked broadband with iinet.

Any one have any ideas why this is happening? and how to fix the problem.

regards,

Keith.

Hi Dan,

I suppose I should have checked the file before posting....anyway all corrected now.

I have a SPA-1001 adapter having the same problem re-registering, i'm thinking ti may be a setting on the d-link dsl-2542b modem that is causing the problem.

Any ideas what the settings should be with this modem? I have the SPA's I.P. set in the "reserved ip list" to help steady the i.p. shifting.

Any other ideas why this is happening.

cheers,

Keith.

I'm not fammiliar with D-Link's DSL-2542B. But according it's specification, such device have Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) and Denial of Service (DoS) attack protection. It may block either incomming or outgoing packets (because they are misclaimed as attack). Also, SIP_ALG used during NAT may interfere with phone communication. Try turn off all those advanced features (but no NAT). Ask on a forum dedicated to DSL-2542B - I assume you are not alone with such kind of problem.
