Remote station SPA9XX??

Hi,

the SPA9XX with the SPA9000 can have a remote station?

i mean to take away your SPA9XX to vacations and plug it into hotels network and there you go, you have your office extencion in the hotels room.

and how to doit?? and what i need??

Hi,

The SPA9000 Voice System is not designed to support remote stations. Thus the scenario you describe is not officially documented.

Having said this, it is possible to configure the equipment in the way that you want it.

Firstly, you need to consider security, you may want to configure a VPN between your hotel and your office router, then the remote phone will be on the same LAN.

Secondly, consider that the SPA9000 uses multicast, and multicast will not pass across a VPN, so paging, intercom, and provisioning will not work.

Lastly, this is an advanced configuration topic that will require you to do a significant amount of hand-configuration so be sure to refer to the following for help:
