Hi I have received parameters for setting up ATA connection to BT hosted voip. I can use them with x-lite softphone and it works ok. When I use the quick start of the spa112 the registration fails. Clearly not putting the parameters in correctly! Can anyone point me in the right direction please. I am new to this so if it's an A,B, C answer so much the better, I will not be offended! Many thanks in anticipation?
With x-lite did not require alt domain or ip address.
number/username: 0560xxxxxxx
SIP password: private
Domain: bmnha-01.bt.com
Alt Domain: sip.bbvservice.nat.bt.com
Outbound proxy: www.bbvservice-560118.bt.com
IP address: 62.xx.xx.xx
SIP Standard RFC3261 tweaked, REINVITES are every 30s

A simple fix! Solved my own problem but post the answer in case anyone else has a problem/misunderstanding. On the spa112 'quick set up' page where it says 'proxy' enter 'domain' name from BT email. SIP ID and password straight forward. On the Voice line number entry scroll down to outgoing proxy and add www.bbvservice-560118.bt.com and change box to use outgoing proxy to 'yes'. Hope this helps someone. P

Hello,
Thank you so much for posting the fix, I would have been stumped otherwise.
Just one question regarding using this with BT.
Everything works, except that when I dial out I have to wait about 15 seconds for the call to be connected.
Does this also happen for you? Or have you worked out a fix for it?
I have updated the firmware to the latest version.
Many thanks
Peter

Hello, Peter, I am glad my fix helped you. It nearly drove me crazy as I was new to this type of set up. I spent a week on and off trying different combinations! Anyhow won't have that problem again. So your post dialing delay problem? I have noted a long delay when dialling 1471. These BT hosted lines are not regularly used by me so will have to check when I am at that office next week sometime.
I have seen suggested on other sites that a # after the number indicates end of dialing to stop timers but that's not very neat is it and at the moment cannot test that for you.
The next concerns the 'dial plan' that i believe is in the configuration settings of the adapter? If you are accessing the adapter with a pc/laptop I guess it's easier to see.
Came across the http://www.callcentric.com/support/device/cisco/spa112-spa122 you may glean something here?
You may need to seek guidance or search for 'dial plan' set up to see if the settings you currently have are causing you a delay?
Hope this doesn't set you off down the wrong path! Pete H
