Hello,

Have you tried to upgrade to the latest firmware version?

Have you tried to perform a factory reset on the unit?

Thanks,
Kris

Yes I tried upgrading firmware which fails to all versions newer than the current:

Model: SPA112, 2 FXS
Hardware Version: 1.1.0
Boot Version: 1.3.1 (Dec 11 2013 - 17:43:53)
Firmware Version: 1.3.5 (004p) Oct 28 2014
Recovery Firmware:

1.3.0 (001)=

I also do not want to perform a hard factory reset holding the button down for 20 seconds because I learned that when I do so on other SPA112 devices I have, the device becomes bricked because it has no open ports and the DHCP ip wont open in a browser, and we do NOT have a Cisco phone server anymore for it to retrieve the conf file from. Instead we now have a Digium phone server and there is no way I can find to get into the device as there are no open ports and it doesnt have a serial port on it.

Syslog message is not the issue you are facing, I assume. So please describe the issue first.

I am getting 2 emails at a time that read....

"<27>Jun 6 14:09:29 ACSHR-SPA112-1900 sendmail: SSL Helper exited (0)"

In them.

That was the article I thought I posted to located at

https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/atas-gateways-and-accessories/spa112-daemon-error-sendmail-ssl-helper-exited/m-p/3180063/highlight/false#M8622

Thanks,

My question is quite simple. Have you a true issue using SPA112 or you are just getting log records you mentioned ?

As far as I know the SPA112 is sending and receiving faxes as normal but do I have a way to verify that in the device itself?

My copier Transmission and Reception journal logs shows some entries with OK status but I also have many other codes which I haven't looked up what they mean yet. It's a Toshiba e-studio and some of the codes are 00D2, 00D0, 00B5, 0051, 0030.
Thanks!

It's just first time anyone has mentioned fax here. So don't be surprised I'm confused. While you know what you are doing. when and where, we know nothing. Please describe the issue. I mean (for a particular call):

1. what you are doing (step by step)

2. what behavior you are expecting to happen

3. what behavior, different from [2] you are facing

While it seems your's activities have something to do with fax (either transmission or receiving), don't forget to mention codec negotiated during call and data speed used by fax during session. And because of text the message in question, you should disclose what the SSL is configured to be used for (in your particular environment/setup).

As a general rule, syslog&debug messages of SPA112 voice application (highest level of logging possible) captured as well as SIP & RTP packets related from particular call are quite valuable resource for analysis of most of issues.

We are no Toshiba gurus here. But it's so easy to ask Google (so why you didn't tried it by self ?). According "Troubleshooting guide" (by the way, you received such guide with your copier - did you read it ?), paragraph "Error codes on transmission and reception":

00B0-00B5
00C0-00C4
00D0-00D2
Signal Error Or Line Condition Error
0051 Fax Line Cable Disconnected
0030 Interrupt by Paper Misfeed During Direct Transmission
