SPA504G remembers the name for dialed extensions?

HI,

I should preface this with "we are using SPA504G phones in SIP mode with Freeswitch server."

On some of our SPA504G phones, when someone dials my extension they see my phones name displayed like TO: Sean  (next line) 220.  This is sort of the caller id display but for the called number on the caller's screen.  Other phones just display "TO: 220 (next line)220".  Someone on the FreeSwitch forum has suggested the "Sean" is the caller id that has been  stored in the phones that I have called.  Can some confirm?

How can I control what is displayed?  Our phones are multi-homed (connected to multiple SIP servers on different lines)  so dialing 220 is not always the same person.

Ignoring the multi-homed complications, does loading a directory into the phone effect this display?  That is, if the outbound number is in the directory does the name get displayed?

Thanks,
Sean

If the outbound number matches the address book the phone will display the right name. You have to disable "display update" in freeswitch (im not sure wich setting it is) otherwise freeswitch will change de display name to "outbound call"
