SPA514G Auto Answer Call

I need an SPA514g to automatically answer calls after a ring or two, on the speakerphone.

It looks like some of the other Cisco phones have this feature (ie the Cisco 3905 Admin Manual has:

Auto Answer: Connects incoming calls automatically after a ring or two. Auto Answer works with the speakerphone). And I need to reproduce this behaviour in the SPA5xx series.

Thanks.

OK, I've managed to reproduce most of the functionality we need with Paging (*96). My next problem is that the BLF+SD key is getting confused by the paging prefix when subscribing to monitor the extension.

fnc=blf+sd;sub=1001@$PROXY;ext=*961001@$PROXY

I expected the phone to subscribe to BLF monitoring on extension 1001, and that's the extent of the info BLF uses. Then the Speed Dial to dial *961001.

The Speed Dial works, but the BLF breaks when I add the star code.

Any advice?

the fnc= definition knows not only ext= parameter but also sub=

I may not remember it correctly, but if both are present, the sub is used for BLF feature and ext for SD. May be I'm wrong, just try various combinations of those two parameters.

I've tried every combination of ext= and sub=. If the two don't match, the BLF flashes an error.

Personally I think it's a bug in the phone. You should be able to subscribe a BLF to a different extension than the speed dial.

The admin guide is not clear what the difference between ext and sub is, however in the Broadcom guide it says sub is the extension that's subscribing to the BLF notification (ie yourself) and ext is the extension being monitored.

You care what name is used in SUBSCRIBE SIP message and number dialed during Speed Dial. It may help you to identify exact behavior and may help you to discover solution. The color of flashing led disclose no helpful details.

Missing feature you wish for is not bug. Bug is behavior different from specification/documentation.

I don't know the phone have the feature you are requesting or not, but I advised you how to find answer by self. So sorry, I have no spare time now to test it by self and provide step-by-step guide for you - I'm just volunteer, you know ...

Phone needs to be switched to Broadcom mode to follow Broadcom guide. In other mode it may or may not apply. It's something to discover.

Read auto answer incoming calls - cisco 303G

I'm unsure if other number than zero works with answer-after the expected way. Just try it.
