UC560 and SPA508G's various issues with registration

HI There,

We setup a UC560 with ESW540 24 port switch in a test lab, and everything is working fine.

We have moved it tot he clients site, and even though all there cable is tested to CAT5e, we are having problems with some of the phones regisering.

The connection tot he PC working at 100M for the last 2 years when swaooed to the phone and the phone connected to the PC we get various combinations of the following.

1. Phone boots through to registering and sits there indeffinately.

2. Phone sits at initializing network.

and with thos ewe can have various combinations of the below

1. PC gets IP address and works.

2. PC does not get IP address.

And the kicker one phone/PC combo that was working, last night, when they switch the PC ontoday, PC got no IP, and phone was working, disconnect phone, and reconnect PC gets IP phone sits at initialising network.

this is in a grefield site with Windows SBS 2008 Serverrunning DHCP for the client PC's and the UC560 DHCP for the phones, DHCP was disabled for the DATA VLAN using CCA3.1

This is now getting to be a serious problem as we need to start training the client on the phones for go live next week.

OK Solved it,

It appears that for some bizarre reason the ESW when configure as Phone/PC SMart Port, only allows 3 mac addresses, and for wahtever reason it was deciding that the ones with weird registrations had more than 3 so was locking the ports.

Manually changed it to not lock the ports.

And it all worked.

SO answered me own problem.
