Hi
I am a newbie. my school is planning to upgrade current phone system to cisco uc560. We have 40 phones and 3 fax.
I plan to replace all phones to cisco IP phones but we decide to keep fax as before.
We use a T1/E1 line and were given an extension range. If we buy a UC560-T1E1-K9, is it handle well with legacy faxes?
I know it has 4 FXS ports , can we use these ports for FAX? Is there any extra hardware and license we should buy for that?
Thanks

Hi,
Yes the UC560-T1E1-K9 will suit your needs.
Connect your fax machines to the FXS ports, then configure your T1/E1 trunk.
You can configure the FXS ports to be FAX
Then you can configure the DID for the T1/E1 to point to the extension associated with the corresponding FXS port.

Yasien
