UC560 to 3500 switch with fibre uplinks

Hello,

I am working on setting up a UC560 with Cisco 3500 series switches.  The first switch is connected to the UC via ethernet and it works just fine, the next switch is uplinked via ethernet and that works just fine.  We have two other switches that connect to those core switches via fibre links and those will not work.  The configuration is extactly the same but the phones on the switches that have the fibre uplinks will not register.  They stay at configuring IP.  I checked spanning tree and that is not the cause.  I can see that they are on VLAN 100, I can also ping the UC560 from the switches that have the fibre links.  I know the fibre is good because the currently have a VOIP system in place with the same setup.  The only difference is that they have only vlan 1 and I am using vlan 100.  We are using 7960 IP phones. The first two switches connected via ethernet work just fine so I don't know why the fibre would change anything.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mark,

If the phones are stuck at configuring IP, they are not getting an IP address from the DHCP server.

The phone registration process has not even started at this point.  Are you using the UC560 as the DHCP server for the phones?  You said you can ping the UC560.  Are you pinging Vlan 1, or Vlan 100?

Thank you,

Darren
