I am attempting to upgrade several SPA525G2 phones. All report "Illegal Image File" when I attempt to load spa525g-7-4-6.bin
There is a single image file for both regular and G2, correct?
Is there an alternate download site?

Hi,
I agree with you: it's the same firmware.
Did you try to "debug tftp event" in your CME to be sure what is the name of the file downloaded? Are you using SPA525G2 in SIP or SCCP mode?
Let me know!

Do you have to load the firmware through CME? I was using the phones web page, not TFTP...

It's even easier than you think.
step 1. Load up CCA 2.2.6
step 2. unzip the downloaded spa525g software file and extract contents to a folder..
step 3 drag the .bin file previously unzipped onto the icon of the UC5XX when in topology view of CCA.
step 4. after the software completes a download to the UC500 then reset the SPA525 phone either by topology view
(right hand click on the phone and reboot the phone as per the picture below.)

Hi,
You may find this thread for useful if you dont fancy setting up a CME box just for a firmware upgrade...

Essentially from some firmware versions you need to two-step. It links to here:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-12989
Which details instructions. Failing that, might be worth re-downloading the image.
