Any rules on POOL IP Addresses for VPN Tunnel ?

Hello,

I was wondering if like we have some rules on LAN addresses like:

10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255

172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255

192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255

Do we have also some rules for a VPN TUNEL ?

In some examples I see they use:

10.10.10.1

14.1.1.100

192.168.0.100

Thank you for your feed-back.

Best Regards,

Didier

Hi,

there are no rules as such. just that the pool ip addresses have to be private ip addresses. the private ip addresses will not be routable over internet and hence will easily talk to the LAN ip addresses.

Please ensure that the pool ip addresses are different than the LAN ip address to avoid routing issues.

Anisha

P.S.: Please mark this thread resolved if you think your query is answered.

Hi Anisha,

This is also what I expected , it seams logic , but I did not find anything regarding this in my ICND1 / INCD2 books.

Thank you again for your prompt reply

Best Regards,
