Hello everyone,
Need information on how to upgrade as5300 for the following...
1. adsl (user having adsl can connect)
2. quad E1 - more than 200 modem pool
3. ISDN connectivity
is it possible to have as5800 to accept connections from adsl + dialup + isdn users for remote access or what are other options.... need only cisco gear.
thankyou

The as5300 cannot terminate DSL PVC; its an Access server platform that can be used for modem & ISDN call termination.
Need to know more on the type of ATM circuit the ADSL is going to use, the 3600/3700/3800 can be used for ADSL/ Modem/ ISDN termination.
Since you plan to have 4x E1 (120 DS0s) to cater to both modem & ISDN calls, 200 modems may not be required.
A cisco3660 router would suit best here (6 slots):
NM-2CE1T1-PRI x 2 = 4 E1s
NM-30DM x 3 = 90 modems
NM-1A-T3 or NM-1A-OC3MM or SM in the remaining slot.
Thanks, Mak

Thankyou Mak,
That is very useful information, appreciate that.
Just to clear up my doubt on the spec you have suggested - will that cater adsl+dialup+isdn access all in one box ?
thankyou very much

That's correct...as said in the previous posting we need to know the DSL setup & then make a decision on the type of card that will be used.
For ISDN & modem calls the cards are:
NM-2CE1T1-PRI x 2 = 4 E1s
NM-30DM x 3 = 90 modems.
NOTE: these cards are for the 36/37/3800 platforms
Thanks, Mak
