Hi,

Don't know whether this is possible but wanted to check whether a router can dial to a NT RAS server ( Server has external modems connected to accept dial-in clients )

Thanks

Yes, a router with internal or external modems can dial *OUT* to another RAS. From the NT RASes perspective it’s another modem that’s trying to connect it & from the routers perspective it’s an individual modem (internal or external) that’s trying to call out.

Thanks, Mak

thanks Mak,

Is there any sample config on cisco.com referring to the above specific secnario ?

Internal digital modems calling OUT:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/univgate/ps505/products_configuration_example09186a0080094ebe.shtml

NM-AM calling out:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk801/tk36/technologies_configuration_example09186a0080093d2a.shtml

NOTE, this config is for the router to call out as if it's an individual modem calling out. We need to match parameters such as authentication type pap/chap , username/password credentials as per the requirement on the NT RAS that's acting as an Access server now (terminating the calls)

Thanks, Mak
