can cisco 2500 or 2600 route do 3DES vpn?

Hi

Could you tell me if Cisco 2500 or 2600 route do 3DES vpn with Cisco concentrator 3005? If yes, what I need to install in the route?

2500 can only do DES not 3DES.

2600 can do 3DES.

You need upgrade the router IOS with 3DES IPSEC image, normally with "k9" in the feature set.

After that, you can config ISAKMP and crypto commend with 3DES.

If you do not install VPN accelarator (VPN hardware module). Only use software encryption, not more than 100 tunnels ( 1 tunnel is 1 ISAKMP SA and Two IPSEC SA). Also depending on the traffic flow.

If you have VPN module, can up to 300 tunnels and can passing encrypted traffic about 10M per second.
