Can't ping remote VPN connections

Hi all,

We have a VPN 3005 Concentrator configured to hand out IP addresses from an internal pool. When remote users connect to our VPN they get an IP address from this pool and they can ping internally as needed. In order to provide remote support our helpdesk wants to be able to ping (and VNC) the remote users but we can not ping them by the IP they are getting from the pool. Tracert suggests the pings are getting to the concentrator but then dropping Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello,

Is the helpdesk having the same subnet IP as the remote user pool ? If not, make sure you route accordingly in the internal network.

This might happen , if the firewall feature of the VPN client is enabled , which might block any access to the client from foreign parties. make sure you allow the helpdesk LAN, if any VPN firewall is enabled.

is split tunneling enabled ? just have a look at this too.

All the best !
