In our lab, we have one Cisco a-mode AP with model no: AIR-AP1230A-A-K9. Right now, it is supporting Qos and WPA. I wish to upgrade AP so that it will support WPA2 also. Which is the tar file for this particular service? What are the procedures for upgrading AP?

I have tar file: c1200-k9w7-tar.123-2.JA2 and I am using tftpd32. But after upgradation of Cisco A mode AP, I checked the firmware name. It is the new one. But still it is not supporting WPA2. I have a doubt that the particular model (AP with model no: AIR-AP1230A-A-K9.) does not have hardware capacity to support WPA2. Please check this and send me a reply as soon as possible, because our work is stuck in middle.

The a radio module required for supporting WPA2 is AIR-RM21A or AIR-RM22A. In case the radio module on this AP is AIR-RM20A, then it will support only WPA. Kindly check the radio module using 'show controllers'.

Radio module of our AP is Cisco RM20A. So in order to get WPA2 support, can i buy RM21A module separately? You have any idea about this? How much will be the cost?

Yes it can be bought seperately. You'll need to swap the old module with the new one after powering down the AP. Detail are available at the following link.

I'm not sure about it's price. It should be between 100$ and 200$.
